Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 13, 2026 · Field Serve
Introduction
Welcome. Field Serve ("we", "us", or "our") provides field service, job and asset management software for technicians and businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our app, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you.
Important: Field Serve does not require account creation, sign-in, or OTP verification by default. The app can be used on-device for offline jobs, forms and reports. Some optional features (for example: cloud backup, remote sync, or support requests) may require providing contact details — we will make that clear at the point you enable those features.
Information we collect
Because StockSnap POS is primarily an on-device point-of-sale app, the information collected is focused on supporting sales and operations. This includes:
- Job & service data: work order details, service descriptions, timestamps, materials used, labour records, job photos and attachments, and customer or site identifiers provided for the job.
- Asset & inventory data: asset identifiers, part SKUs, stock counts, pricing, locations, and other operational information entered by technicians or administrators.
- Optional contact data: customer or site contact details only if provided in relation to a job (for confirmations or invoices).
- Device & diagnostic data: device type, OS version, app version, IP address, and crash reports — only if you opt in to share diagnostics.
- Optional cloud backup data: if you enable cloud backup or remote sync, a copy of your jobs, assets, and settings may be stored in encrypted form on our cloud provider; we will request contact details needed to manage that service.
How we use your information
We use information to operate the app and support merchants:
- To record sales and generate receipts, support refunds, and manage inventory.
- To provide optional cloud backup or remote sync if you choose to enable it.
- To send support responses, important notices, and optional alerts (only if you provide contact details).
- To operate, improve, and troubleshoot the app and services (including optional diagnostics if enabled).
- To meet legal and accounting obligations (for example, retaining transactional data for tax purposes).
Third-party service providers
We may work with third-party service providers for functions such as:
- Payment processors and gateways that handle payment card data and payment authorizations (we do not store full card numbers).
- Email and SMS providers for sending receipts or support messages when you provide contact details.
- Cloud hosting providers that store encrypted backups when cloud backup is enabled.
- Optional analytics or crash-reporting tools if you opt in to diagnostics.
These providers act on our instructions and are contractually required to safeguard data. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data stored by our services, such as encrypted storage, access controls, and HTTPS for data in transit. Where cloud backup is enabled, backups are stored encrypted. Payment card data is processed by PCI-compliant payment processors and is not stored by StockSnap POS. If a breach affecting personal data occurs, we will notify affected users and regulators as required by law.
Children’s privacy
StockSnap POS is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected personal information about a child in error, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Your rights
Even though StockSnap POS does not require account creation by default, if you have provided contact information or enabled cloud backup you may have rights under applicable law, such as the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. You may also request deletion of cloud backups or export of your data. To make such requests, contact us using the details below and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Cookies & tracking
We do not use tracking cookies within the app by default. If the website or app implements cookies, we will disclose their use and obtain consent where required. Diagnostic or analytics tools (if enabled) may use non-identifying cookies; you can opt out where such choices are provided.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated where feasible.

Data retention & removing data
Field Serve stores transactional and operational data on the device by default. The app does not create accounts or store data on our servers unless you explicitly enable an optional cloud backup or sync feature.
- Transactional records: when stored on device, remain until you remove them locally. If you enable cloud backup, copies may be retained by the cloud provider for legal or accounting purposes (see cloud backup settings).
- Local app data: remains on the device until you uninstall the app or clear its data via your device settings.
- Cloud backups: only occur if you opt in; contact us to request removal of cloud-stored copies (see contact below).
Because Field Serve does not create accounts by default, there is no account-deletion workflow. To remove local data, uninstall the app or clear app data on your device. If you have enabled cloud backup and want that data removed, contact us and we will assist.
